What it pastes

Pictures

From a browser or a screenshot, transparency kept.

Files

From Explorer. WebM, AV1, OGG, SVG and other formats Premiere can't open are converted first.

In and Out

Set In and Out first and the pasted picture fills that range. Several pictures share it.

Details

  • Never overwrites. It uses the first free track at the playhead, even for long clips and several pastes in a row.
  • Undo works. One Ctrl+Z takes a paste back.
  • Fake transparency removed. A picture with the grey-and-white checkerboard baked in comes in cut out, or as it was if it can't be cut cleanly. On 34 real stock previews: 21 cut out, 13 left alone, none half done.
  • Organized. Pasted media goes into a Paste Imp bin and a Paste Imp folder next to the project.
  • No duplicates. Pasting the same file again reuses the earlier copy.
  • Premiere's own paste still works for clips and text copied inside Premiere.
