Guides

Paste Imp

  1. Copy a picture, a screenshot or a file in Explorer.
  2. Click into Premiere and press Ctrl+V. It lands at the playhead on the first empty track.
  3. Files go into a Paste Imp bin and a Paste Imp folder next to the project.
  4. Turn it off in the Tiny Imps app: Paste with Ctrl+V in Premiere.

Caption Imp

  1. Create captions in Premiere (Transcribe, then Create captions) and save the project.
  2. Open Window › UXP Plugins › Caption Imp, select captions or take the whole track.
  3. Pick a look and click Make karaoke.
  4. Changed something? Run it again. Clear removes only its clips.

Beat Imp

  1. Select the music clip on the timeline.
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+B. It uses the settings in the Beat Imp panel (Window › UXP Plugins › Beat Imp): hits or a beat grid, how many, spacing, marker colours and names.
  3. By default only the big hits get a marker, in red. Pick Every hit to add the small ones in yellow.
  4. Running it again replaces only its own markers.

Motion Imp

  1. Open Window › UXP Plugins › Motion Imp.
  2. For a transition, put the playhead on a cut. For an animation, select clips.
  3. Pick a preview in Browse (arrows on the card pick the direction), then Add.
  4. Select a placed transition to change it in Edit. Smoothie, Pivot Pin, Copycat and On the beat are under Tools.
  5. Titles are under Text; the words, font and colour are in Edit.

Questions

Install and sign-in

The sign-in code didn't arrive.
Check your spam folder. A code works for 10 minutes; ask for a new one from the same window.
It says “too many wrong codes”.
After 5 wrong tries the code stops working. Ask for a new one.
Windows says it protected my PC.
The installer isn't code-signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
Where are the settings?
Open Tiny Imps from the Start menu. The app runs in the background and shows its window only when you open it.

Using the imps

An imp doesn't show up in Premiere.
Check that it's installed in the Tiny Imps app, then restart Premiere. Imps are under Window › UXP Plugins. Premiere Pro 26 is required; we test on 26.5.2.
Ctrl+V or Ctrl+Shift+B does nothing.
Premiere has to be the active window, and the Tiny Imps app has to be running. Open it from the Start menu if you closed it.
Ctrl+V pastes the Premiere way.
Clips and text copied inside Premiere always use Premiere's own paste. Paste Imp takes over only for pictures and files copied elsewhere.
Support asked for a log.
It's at %LOCALAPPDATA%\TinyImps\helper.log. Paste that into the Explorer address bar and attach the file.

Subscription

I'm signed in on two computers.
When you sign in on a third, the app offers to sign out the one used longest ago.
How do I cancel or change my card?
In the Creem portal, or Settings › Manage subscription in the app. The imps keep working until the paid period ends.
Does it work offline?
Yes, for up to 7 days between check-ins.
How do I uninstall?
Windows Settings › Apps › Tiny Imps, or Uninstall in the app's Settings.
